You only know if something is premium when you apply and the star is next to the save button, which you can miss if you're not looking every time you apply a setting. it's obviously an upsell tactic and feels tacky. edit: 3 stars down to 1. added even more previously free filters to premium. going elsewhere. ✌🏻 - **1★ · August 10, 2026** — Worst experience with auto-renewal! I took a 3-day free trial, and my child accidentally got charged $4.99 right after the trial ended without clear warning. I canceled the subscription on the exact same day the money was deducted and haven't used the service at all. I reached out to support for a refund, but they are completely unresponsive. Unprofessional customer service. Do not fall for their free trial trap! - **1★ · August 28, 2026** — I have had Prequel premium for well over a year and it was great for a while. With every update now, they make it worse. At one time I could use effects and filters with no issues. Now it's "loading" at every turn and nothing ever works. I don't know why these idiotic app companies always resort to ruining their product. They give me no choice but to cancel. ## About Prequel is an all-in-one editor app with photo filters, video effects for Reels, and presets for your photos & videos.
