## Featured reviews

- **5★ · January 7, 2026** — Great app and easy to use. Wonderful tool to use on any investigation and perfect if you need an extra voice recorder. If you have any old phones you could purchase this app and turn them into dedicated voice recorders.
- **5★ · January 1, 2026** — Extraterrestrial 👽 communicator ? What's intriguing about this EVP Recorder is you can still use it with a microphone blocker app and if there is EMF around it will still record that as sound distortions. Still experimenting with that... Does pick up EVPs yet faintly. I use Mind Voicing to test these. Same results as when using my Raudive antenna for EVPs=Faint. Raudive Diode EVP antenna app? If similar then that is really cool!!! Serious researchers app if so and a great EVP Recorder anyway 👻
- **5★ · April 11, 2026** — I think It real I got direct replies but needs more updates though

## About

🎙️ EVP Tape Recorder is not a typical voice recorder.

It’s a modern digital recorder designed to behave like a real analogue tape machine — unpredictable, imperfect, and full of character.

Built for EVP sessions, field recording, and experimental audio, the app deliberately avoids “perfect” digital clarity. Instead, it recreates the subtle quirks of tape recording: drift, noise, wear, and mechanical instability. The result is audio that feels organic, alive, and authentic 📼✨

📼 A True Analogue-Style Recording Experience

EVP Tape Recorder captures uncompressed WAV audio while emulating the sound and behaviour of classic tape machines. Optional tape effects introduce realism over time — wear builds, drift creeps in, and the noise floor becomes part of the recording, just like real tape.

⏯️ Playback That Behaves Like Tape

Forward and reverse playback behave physically, with variable speed, pitch-corrected audio, looping, and scrubbing. Tape wear continues during playback, meaning every listen subtly changes the recording.

🧭 Sensor-Driven Instability (Optional)

For those who want deeper realism, the app can optionally use your device’s magnetometer. Changes in the surrounding magnetic field subtly influence tape behaviour, introducing natural instability.

🎛️ A Visual Tape Interface

The interface is designed to feel like a real tape deck:
animated reels, visible tape movement, and transport controls built directly into the tape itself. Playback direction and progress are always clear at a glance.

📁 Simple, Purpose-Built File Management

Recordings are saved automatically as WAV files. You can review, share, or delete recordings directly from the tape interface using intuitive swipe actions — no clutter, no complexity.

👻 Who Is EVP Tape Recorder For?

EVP investigators, paranormal researchers, experimental audio users, sound designers — or anyone fascinated by analogue-style recording behaviour.

⚠️ Important Notes

Sensor data is used solely to influence recording and playback behaviour.
Interpretation of recorded audio is always the responsibility of the user.
