Navionics has the best bathymetric maps by a long shot, especially in lakes and rivers; absolutely no comparison. I like that the app can grab my position from my NMEA gateway since the GPS in my tablet is very bad. I wish it had more fine-tuning as to which NMEA strings it uses, though. I REALLYYY wish you could specifically download relief shading maps for offline use!! Please add this!! - **3★ · August 19, 2026** — This app has a lot of potential, but several failings. The main issue that I have with it is that the AIS over a WiFi gateway is advertised as a feature and it does not work AT ALL. It will display AIS vessels with the Boat Beacon app running, but that is typically 10 minute old data, which is not very helpful. Support was of little value, only sending links to the manual that I had already checked. Garmin should not be advertising this capability if it doesn't exist. Is a good app for navigating the Intracoastal. would be nice to have user editing of landmarks(if I does it have not noticed), especially for hazards. Lastly, for what they charge there should be a companion for wearable.
