Since the sale to Gannett, there has been a noticeable increase in national stories, at the sacrifice of local news and events. I am impressed with our local reporters, who still bring us wonderful news and stories! I think they work hard, and serve us very well. It is up to Gannett to provide the paper with enough local staff to get the local job done, and not rely on using too much generic national news to increase corporate profits. So far, they are walking a delicate line, and our friends and neighbors notice this. - **4★ · This paper is uplifting · June 14, 2023** — The Cape Cod Times has been sold to USA Today. It reports the news of Cape Cod. Before it was sold there were always funny stories of crazy things that happened on the Cape. It was always fun to read the paper with a cup of coffee while sitting on the deck. I miss the funny stories but the news is still there. I’m now reading it on my tablet instead of having a real paper in my hands.
