This is an update to my review since reading the other reviews on here...I don't see any ads on the new version. And even if I did, I don't mind. However, I do believe that if someone paid for a subscription based on "no ads" - then they should receive a refund. I, for one, am loving the idea of being able to read as much as I want for free, and I will tolerate the ads for that specific reason. This version is better for me since there doesn't appear to be a forced limit on free articles. The last version had a monthly limit of 10 **free** articles and then you had to pay for a subscription to read anything more that month. I was never going to pay for a subscription - I don't believe I should be required to pay for information when the paper makes money already on ads. But that's me. I'm willing to tolerate the ads so I can get my info for free. Old school "over the air" free TV paradigm. People under 30 won't understand that concept. ****The only thing I don't like about the new version is the real estate section part of the app. I can't get to my saved searches very easily or at all sometimes*******. - **5★ · This is an Update?? · August 15, 2024** — I made the grave error of deleting my old VCStar app and now I’m stuck with your idea of Modernity. I would happily pay $20 for a download of the old app so I could get the proper use out of my $30/month sub. Now that my paper is MAILED to me ( I live a mile over the County line) I get Sunday, Monday and Tuesday on Thursday and Wednesday on Friday. So I HAVE to use your very poor excuse for am e-reader. I use the Washington Post, New York Times, L.A.Times and Honolulu Star-Advertiser with minimal trouble. Thank You for nothing.. I downloaded the app as I was instructed to do and it started up ok but when I to go to puzzles it went to. A page that was blank, and stayed that way. I find that I now have to load VCSTAR through Google/Chrome. Then I have to choose the Sports section and go to the pages I want manualy. When I click on a puzzle they work but always has a section on the left which limits the size. I used to get it almost full page which made it a lot easier to read. The comics too. I can print out things okay but I don’t want to have to print out everything I have trouble reading on the screen.
