I got a job with the forest service doing in-depth forestry being our national forest, doing reforestation stage, three and four forestry. And it was serious heavy work. I had my own portable unit, and depended upon it heavily. That was 24 maybe 25 years of being in the woods doing different things. Then I went and worked public work. And I was “always”monitoring! I haven’t actually trusted anyone else, but your service, except there was a meteorologist, in North Carolina, on channel 9 news. His name is Mark watkins. This is a gentleman who is an actual meteorologist. He studied the charts and studied the barometers temperatures windshear altitudes of varying degrees is. Cold and hot. He then, put together a forecast. This guy was dead accurate. You didn’t trust anybody’ if *Mark Watkins*did Not( forecast it ),, it was `NOT’ valid! That was back when meteorologists were actually BONA FIDE and seasoned! Mark retired, and oh my God, these so-called meteorologists whom tried to fill his shoes,,, had a lot of growing up to do and get back on the equipment that is actual meteorology and learn something. So NOAA radar, and WEATHER / atmosphere readings have actually saved a lot of people, including myself several times. Because I was out in the weather in the. Real time doing my job. Highest praise for all who quantify the machines readings, and also go, “pro-old school”,, and have learned through actively engaging, and then letting us know what to do,,, when? And where? - **1★ · Over priced, scammy subscription. Fake stars · May 11, 2024** — I tried this app at the recommendation of another sailor friend. This app lasted all but about 60 seconds on my phone after opening it. If you actually take the time to look at the written reviews, they are all one star. Company must be farming for paid 5 stars out of some app review shop in East Asia. You’ll be shocked to find an actual written review with something more than two stars. Immediate upsell to premium at $9.99… a WEEK!! That’s nearly $520 a year. And if you switch apps for a minute, it recognizes you’ve abandoned their upsell and offers you a promotion of 50% off at $6.99. Last time I checked 50% off of $9.99 did not equal $6.99. Regardless even if you did get it at seven dollars a week, that’s still $365 a year!!! This app must pray on people who take the three day trial and then forget about it. The didn’t even stand my phone long enough to find out if any of the features were useful. Pay an annual fee to the weather channel for premium weather on their app and I think it’s $40 for the year!
- **1★ · Not worth the cost · June 7, 2023** — The advertising and concept makes this seem like a robust weather monitoring and notification platform, but it is unfortunately not that at all. A lot of people have left reviews about the cost and why it’s too high. I’ll just say this, there are multiple apps for much less cost than this that deliver more. The app has very basic alert options and didn’t come close to what I expected for the cost and advertising. I’m an employer that needs to monitor heat and smoke for my workers to meet state compliance. - I want notifications for specific temperature ranges when they occurs BUT Not an option with this app. - I was wanting to get active AQI updates during wildfire smoke events And once again not an option. Not to be cruel, but I honestly thought this was a scam app after a few minutes of exploring the capabilities. I’ll explain There are many aspects about the functionality that seem to be broken, glitchy or underdeveloped. - The top banner that shows the temp forecast is chopped off and the high and low for the day aren’t even fully visible - when I select fire/ smoke there is nothing that shows up on the map to show smoke - the wind option only changes color where most every other app also shows wind direction on the various area of the map. -temperature is also just a various color map, not points of temperature for reference. I could go on, but I doubt the developer cares or spends much time actually using this app themselves.
