- **4★ · The Repository · March 4, 2026** — The app took a few uses to determine which type of “style” I liked best. Although I like the old newspaper style best , I love the e newspaper since I don’t have to deal with the recycling issue of paper. The app gives you choices how you want to view the newspaper. I read the paper daily and enjoy doing so.
- **3★ · Passable · January 11, 2026** — Local news and sports are covered as well as can be expected, what with the lack of people available. It’s kind of ironic newspapers complain about government cuts in budget and service when they’ve been doing the exact same thing for 20 years or more. The recent story about the fire department grant in Canton was very good and well researched. I can only hope you get around to doing the same with the state’s side of the school funding issue. With regard to the recent proposed cuts by the Canton City school District, so far the coverage has been nothing but the superintendent complaining. A little background into the entire state budget would be a welcome addition. So far, I can’t recall any, or enough to give any decent perspective.
- **1★ · Lousy News Organization With A Matching Lousy App · May 8, 2022** — The Canton Repository is a lousy news organization with a matching lousy app. We were subscribers to the useless hard copy newspaper for many years and did a smart thing; we canceled that subscription. We then purchased the online subscription through iTunes and that was a mistake. We paid for a year in advance since it was cheaper than monthly but the app won’t let us read articles listed as “for subscribers only” even though we are subscribers. We sent an email to The Repository advising them of the problem as instructed by The Repository and have received no response. We will not be renewing our online subscription when our one year subscription expires in Feb. 2023. Hopefully this will keep others from falling into the same trap as we did.
