I immediately came here to write a review when I saw the account > settings > toggle on/off option to “hide meat-based recipes on your homepage.” Thank you so much for recognizing that this could make or break a user’s experience with the app. I am thrilled that I can open the app without dreading what I might see! - **5★ · Well designed recipe app · April 28, 2024** — Six month free trial for Guardian subscribers. The filters allow specifying gluten and dairy free recipes and when both were set about half of the recipes were still available. The recipes themselves look good and the layout is nice and clear. I also liked the UK to US translation popup that explains the different names for some ingredients. The free recipe app I was using before is getting more and more adverts so I’m going to delete it and switch to this. - **3★ · A little difficult for old eyes · November 12, 2025** — The app is a welcome addition for anyone interested in British recipes. One unfortunate aspect is how the app does not allow recipes to fit your screen, so the writing is too small to read. I’m using an a iPad Pro in landscape mode, and text is too small to be easily legible. Printing a recipe is not possible from the app, either. (Who wants to bring expensive electronic equipment into the kitchen where accidents can and do happen.
