Will try to see if I’m able to update this review at a future date. With that being said, from my current experience, just now, with setting up the app, I get the feeling that the reviews stating how you are unknowingly setup with, and charged for the plus version, are either posted by complete idiots, or outright lies by perhaps entities paid to post derogatory reviews on merchants! This is something I didn’t even know existed until about 10 years ago when an associate of mine, when discussing our work histories, informed me that he had such a job, and how well paying it was! I was totally shocked! Anyway, the app PLAINLY asks you if you’d like to PURCHASE the plus version. Also, the setup section explains how the various settings work! Oh, and the app explains how some calls, even though they may be in your contacts list, may be blocked, but it also provides a means to review your blocked calls and to unblock ones that shouldn’t be blocked. Oh, there were complaints about calls still going to voicemail. Well, duh, you are given a setting to have that done, or for blocked calls to simply die and not go to voicemail! So again. Not understanding the motivation behind some of these bad reviews, but I can only attribute them to sheer stupidity on the part of the reviewer, or something a bit more sinister at play. Verizon sets you up to think call filter will prevent unwanted calls but every day I get 20-30 calls per day with no end in sight. I first went to BestBuy and was ignored with one comment “everybody gets these calls” end of help. Geek squad no help. My husband’s issues were more important. Then I went to Verizon where the tech also acted like I was bothering him but took my phone and said he blocked the international calling. But later I noted he also removed my paid for call blocker and put in Verizon call filter. It first yesterday I thought it was working but guess what this morning there were 6 calls from Barcelona. Those ten digit numbers that most block/filters can’t get rid of. When I came to this page I noted the 1 rating. After suffering trying to enter the six spam numbers into call filter with added instructions to do several other steps such as looking for the number in their spam bank I must say it is not worth the trouble. Yes Verizon should have a better app for this issue especially since they are recognized as a leading telephone entity. The only reason I stay with Verizon is because my father and my sister both spent their careers and retired from “MaBell” as it was once referred to but my husband is having his doubts and wants a company that cares about their customers and their products. Both Bestbuy and Verizon should train their technicians that taking a customers phone “correcting” an issue then giving it back does not help us at all. Techs you know how to fix issues but your client still does not know how to handle the issues that come up with their $600 phone. My phone needs to be cleaned out in the worst way. At least they have the option to leave a voice message so I can determine whether it’s important or not. I’m on a strict budget & every penny counts even if they are going to quit making them. I am always happy engaging with your team & most stores. However everyone I have spoken with has been incredibly helpful & patient with my lack of technical skills and knowledge. Also has been very supportive of my needs. I absolutely love my Verizon family that I have had the privilege to speaking with over the phone. I seriously lack interaction with technology. People are very important and can’t be replaced by an automated system. The fact that I have a choice to speak with a live person is extremely helpful through my lack of technical skills & are very helpful for my needs through this service.
