Medium fills a niche that works for me. It is not a "free" (advertising and data mining) platform like Meta nor an individual subscription platform like Substack. For $50 a year, readers get access to thousands of writers instead of paying $50 a year for each author. That makes it far more affordable for people who read widely. It also offers high-quality content on a wide variety of subjects. I can afford it, but the downside is that not everyone can.

I'm going to let them have it because this has been going on for a long time after countless updates. When I unmark an article from my Reading List, I expect it gone for ever period, instead the articles keep showing up in my list and I have to untick them countless times before they disappear. Fix it!!! As far as the content/articles, they're the best.

The app works great and is a better experience than the browser. But I'm so-so on Medium itself. I appreciate their value. It's an awesome ad free platform that provides beginning authors with an audience. But, its utility is somewhat limited for me. It's pretty cool if you wanna zone out with an eclectic library of articles, but I don't really do that. Mostly, I want a specific subject, but it's not ideal for searching, plus articles are partially blocked about 80% of time in free version
