Great Workouts - Team Limitless is Amazing!
I started using Ladder a few months ago and I absolutely love it. I’ve been lifting weights for years, but one of the things I like about Ladder and Coach Kelly is the workouts include exercises that I would have never done on my own (looking at you, single leg deadlifts), but have really balanced out my strength. My lower back especially is much stronger than it was before I started using the app. I think it’s a great way to get past training plateaus. The other great thing about the app is that you can prove your progress, since there’s a detailed journal function that allows you to input weight, rep count, and more for each set. Ladder then will estimate your one-rep max and tell you when that number has increased over time. One other great feature that I use when traveling or when the gym is simply too busy for the prescribed exercise: swapping out for other similar movements. The app makes it extremely easy to do this: for a given exercise, you can modify by choosing body weight or cables instead of the original method, or you can simply switch to something else that hits the same muscle group and movement. The coach can also recommend swaps so you can easily choose an alternative. Overall, I’m quite pleased with the app and I think the membership cost is worth it (at $15 a month when paying annually) because you get dynamic programming from a knowledgeable coach. Most of the coaches in my area would cost upwards of $60 per training session.

LOVE
I DESPISE home workouts, getting on the ground and doing crunches or burpees makes me want to cry and I ALWAYS give up on my fitness goals. I'm someone who needs a coach of some sort to push me as I have no motivation to do it myself. I saw coach Kellys Ladder ads on tiktok and I splurged. It's a big deal for me to actually spend money on a workout app especially one where I'm working out at home where I have to make myself accountable. I've had the app now for about a year and I'll never go back. I've collected equipment for my garage (I have a small space and make it work) so it's totally doable for at home workouts. You can choose from so many coaches to help fit your personal interests/needs and can always switch if you feel they're not the right fit. I also love how yes, the coach has pre-recorded videos BUT they're also present and listen/respond to you in the group chat. My coach (coach kelly) posts a daily video to the chat so it's not like other apps where it's recorded and uploaded to the app and left there until they do an update on the app if that makes sense. My coach listens to our opinions and concerns and will adjust the workouts as we go if she's got enough feedback from everyone. I love the group chat where you can talk, ask questions and hype up your teammates and the "cheers" button you can select to cheer on your teammates while they're working out is great. I've lost weight and gained muscle after having my third baby and I'll never go back. Coach Kelly for life!

Perfect at-home workout!
Like many people these days, I’ve had to move all of my workouts to at home and I’ve been trying a ton of things to maintain my practice. This app is honestly my holy grail right now. The design is beautiful and the interface is so easy to use. I have never been a big “workout community“ person and typically preferred doing my own thing at the gym. I’m not even a big social media person and didn’t expect to need or even like the teams aspect of this. All that said, the community feel of this app really takes an already amazing service up a notch. My coach, Taylor, is super responsive and supportive, and she offers modifications and ideas to suit your particular circumstances. The chat feature with my “teammates” really does push me to be better but also helps me to know I’m not in this alone. It’s a great way to feel motivated while still maintaining the social distancing we’re all trying to obey. I’m finishing up my second week and I already feel stronger and swear that I’m seeing more muscle definition.I realize this app is in early days and there are some (very) minor bugs the Ladder team is working out, but nothing takes away from the positives of this for me. They’re making changes and improvements as we go and every decision is thoughtful and geared towards a better workout and team experience. If you value flexibility, want to push yourself, get stronger, and feel the support of a great coach and positive team behind you, give Ladder Teams a shot! I think you’ll love it, too.
