Finally! After SO Much Searching
I think I’ve finally found a weather app worth keeping. First off, the pricing structure. A dev team that understands that forcing a subscription model for an app service that can easily be found for free, is not the right move. Giving the OPTION for a one time payment (which I am willing to do without hesitation) OR a subscription for additional features that the normal weather update seeker doesn’t need. OPTIONS…..something the App Store lacks these days. Features - This app has everything I need. Details when I need it, collapsible when I don’t, radar, alerts that are customizable. I didn’t think I was picky about must-have features in a weather app but apparently I am because it took me easily over 30 app downloads to find this one and so far I’m loving it. With the nearing departure of Dark Sky I think there is going to be a scramble for good replacement and this one is going to be or should be among the top contenders. I think the only thing that could hurt them is a forced subscription but so far a good play by them IMO.

I LOVE the app, but…
I started using my radar on an iPhone some years ago when your app was brand new. I really enjoyed it and started buying the pro version which gives an awful lot more weather data. On my Apple Watch, you used to be able to resize the area of the weather map and I found that extremely useful because I could see the weather close to me and I could keep zooming out so I could see how the weather was approaching from either the east or west the north of the south. Then you took that feature out of the app! I’m still very disappointed about that. I have not found another app in the App Store that had that expandable map feature that you had several years ago in my radar pro for the watch. I just made a very inclusive search of the Apple, App Store, and as close as I can get is the application called Windy because it has a pretty large scale map that fits on the screen so you can see your local weather on my radar Pro and you want to see what’s going on. Several states away. I open up Windy. But Wendy doesn’t work anymore for me and I really, really, really wish that you would revitalize that feature and put a resizable weather map available for the Apple Watch. Much is it gonna cost me to have you do it?

Red Flood Warning Boxes (updated)
I received a response about the red flood warning boxes, and thank you Andy for that. However, the opacity changes all weather warning boxes. And, spotting severe thunderstorm tornado warning boxes are next to impossible with the bright red persistent flood warnings. I know they’ve been red for 10 years, but I truly believe you will find many would agree that changing those flood boxes from red to a more subdued color would make the tornado warnings, etc. much easier to find. (As all other radars have done.) You’ve got clouds and rain in blue and purple. And, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in similar color scheme. I think most would like a change and adapt quite quickly. One thing would make it perfect.... (yep, 2 stars to 5). These red boxes for river and snow melt flooding are always there.... and because they are in red they obstruct the view of other weather data or severe warning boxes. These boxes are long lasting and a nuisance. I’ve had to disable watch boxes because you can’t see what’s what. The Mississippi and Missouri Valleys are examples of an overload of red boxes that you can’t remove. If there was a way to disable these and other statements one by one, that would help. Then in the event of a severe thunderstorm or tornado outbreak I’d just keep it on this app for instead of switching to another. And quite honestly, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes shouldn’t be blue or lavender... really?

About MyRadar Weather Radar Pro

Thanks to everyone for making MyRadar so successful, with over 50 million downloads!
MyRadar Pro is IDENTICAL to the free version of MyRadar; it comes without the ads by default.
MyRadar is a fast, powerful, easy-to-use weather app that displays animated weather radar around your current location and to quickly show what weather is coming your way. Just start the app; your location pops up with animated live radar, with radar loop lengths of up to two hours. This basic functionality provides the quickest way to get a snapshot of the weather on-the-go, and it's what has made MyRadar so successful over the years. Check your phone and get an instant assessment of the weather that will impact your day.
In addition to the live radar, MyRadar has an ever-increasing list of weather and environmentally-related data layers that you can overlay on top of the map; our animated winds layer shows a breathtaking visual representation of both surface winds and winds at the jetstream level; the frontal boundaries layer shows high and low pressure systems as well as frontal boundaries themselves; the earthquakes layer is a great way to stay on top of the latest reports on seismic activity, completely customizable as to severity and time; our hurricane layer allows users to stay on top of the latest tropical storm and hurricane activity throughout the world; the aviation layer overlays AIRMETs, SIGMETs and other aviation-related data, including the ability to track flights and display their IFR flight plans and paths, and the "wildfires" layer allows users to stay abreast of the latest fire activity around the United States.
MyRadar also has the ability to send weather and environmental alerts, including alerts from the National Weather Service, such as Tornado and Severe Weather alerts. A new feature introduced in this version of MyRadar includes the ability to receive alerts based off of Tropical Storm and Hurricane activity; you can configure the app to send you an alert any time a tropical storm or hurricane forms, or is upgraded or downgraded.
One of the most useful features in MyRadar is the ability to provide advanced rain alerts; our patent-pending process for predicting hyper-local rainfall is the most accurate in the industry. Instead of having to check the app all the time, MyRadar will send you an alert up to an hour in advance as to when the rain will arrive at your current location, down to the minute, including details on intensity and duration. These alerts can be a life saver when you're on-the-go and don't always have time to check the weather - our systems will proactively do the work for you and let you know in advance before the rain hits.
In addition to the free features of the app, additional upgrades are available, including real-time hurricane tracking - great for the start of hurricane season. The hurricane tracker provides additional data above and beyond the free version, including the cone of probability for tropical storm/hurricane forecast tracks, and it also includes a detailed synopsis from the National Hurricane Center. The premium upgrades also include the professional radar pack, which allows greater detail of radar from individual stations. Users can select individual radar stations around the US, select the radar tilt angle, and also change the radar product being displayed, including base reflectivity and wind velocity - great for experienced weather buffs looks to stay on top of possible tornado formation.
