I love this app! On a purely shallow surface level, I love it for its awesome visual displays—especially the snow forecast. Beautiful snowflakes and no shoveling! I also love the lightning effects. Check out the daily forecast banner at the bottom—with a simple swipe to the left you can see into next week for predicted weather with highs and lows. Swiping the animated image from top to bottom brings up much of the same information for those who prefer read text reports. There are plenty of graphs and charts to keep one busy. Any weather alert broadcasts can be found below the charts. Just click to read the detailed info and areas included in the alert. In clock mode (tap the little clock/date icon at upper right of screen), tap the icon just to the left of three o’clock inside the clock to monitor one of several hourly variations. Looking for snow or rain? Choose precipitation... Or humidity... wind... and more. You can ‘dial’ up to 12 hours forward to view ahead as well. When you release your touch it will all scroll back to the correct time. There is so much more to explore in this app! For example, the icon to the left of the little clock/date icon will bring up a radar map. I haven’t found everything yet! I have enjoyed this app for several years and often get a better forecast here than elsewhere. It’s worth the price!

UPDATE: As you can see, after the previous update, I was upset about the direction I thought the app was taking. But the latest iteration of this app has fixed what I thought was the problem, and I can once again wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend this weather app as the absolute best one available—for the same reasons I noted earlier, plus one reason I didn’t mention previously; the alternative forecast available with a quick touch of the provider icon in the upper left corner of the screen. Once again, this app sets itself apart from the others with it’s wealth of available information and concise landing page. PREVIOUS: I’ve been using and recommending this app for MORE than 10 years. I’m a private pilot, and when this app first came out it was the ONLY one with barometric trends, and the dew point. It was easily the best weather app available. The hourly forecasts, available by touching the clock in the upper right corner of the display, offer a wide selection of forecasts that meet many different needs. But now, the forecast on the landing page is a wordy, cumbersome, written description of the hourly forecast already available, rather than a concise forecast that can be expounded upon, if desired, on the hourly page. The app still has a wealth of information available, and I still use it. But I am disappointed in the update. If I wanted the convoluted, litigation aware, forecasts of the NOAA or the NWS, I would simply go to their respective websites. I miss the previous iteration of this app and it’s interpretation of the government weather forecasts. I can no longer recommend it as something special in the weather forecasting arena.

This is the absolute BEST weather app I have ever used, and I don’t plan to ever download a different one. This app beats all others for its quality, ease-of-use, user-friendly interface, and plethora of useful features. This all does everything those fancy schmancy subscription-based apps do, for a much smaller and ONE TIME ONLY fee. That fact alone was my main incentive for downloading eWeather in the first place—if i’m going to pay for an app, it should unlock all the features. Good on this company for doing just that. For the level of information this app makes accessible, they could easily get away with charging monthly or at least increasing the initial price, and yet, they don’t. If you’re on the fence about downloading this app, take it from me: YOU WON’T REGRET IT. I have happily relied on eWeather for years as my only weather source; that will never change. I even persuaded my mom, a big weather person who peruses various weather sources, to download this app. Initially, she was hesitant to pay for such an app, but once I showed her everything it does she knew it was a no-brainer, and to this day, she talks about how great this app is. Download it now! It is worth every penny!
