App good--data worthless
First, it doesn't distinguish between NPR news and music stations, and most listings are just music. Second, many of the listings are simply wrong. Finally, there's no indicator to show how powerful the station is: often far-away stations are much stronger. I've found I'm better off just tuning the dial.

NPR Station Locater
The earlier version of this app measured distance to nearby NPR stations from Kansas(?) due to a change in the iOS. That resulted in some foolish comments of criticism. The app is now perfect; it shows distance from your phone to the nearby NPR stations, in order of increasing distance. I use this when on a road trip; it’s easier than groping the low end of the dial to sift NPR out from the stations of no interest. The cool thing is, all you have to do is open the app. It automatically lists all the NPR stations from those closest to your phone to those furthest.
