Solitaire Associations Journey

This game is hella fun and addictive. I didn’t like the ads but loved the game so much that I paid for them to go away. I never do that! I play all the time and it gets harder as you go so it never gets boring. The games go in a cycle. They start off with just a few slots and suits and fairly simple and as you pass them they get more challenging until you get to one with lots of suits and about 5 slots that is really challenging and will definitely take you a few tries to pass it. I am a person who can play a game until I get bored with it and then I’ll delete the game from my phone. This is the longest lasting game I’ve had on my phone. I do see some people complaining about you have to spend big money to play this game. I’ve only spent the amount it took me to get the ads taken off because I don’t like ads. I haven’t spent another dime on this game. If I get to the end and I run out of chances, I just start over again until I get it. It’s challenging. That’s what it’s meant to be. If it was too easy, you'd get bored with it and delete it. You do not have to spend a lot of money to play this game. Also, when you pay to have the ads taken out and you want more turns after you’ve run, out of turns, it’ll give you the choice to watch an ad to get more turns.

This game is fun, and sometimes I learn new word associations I hadn't thought of before. The more I play, though, the more I'm realizing the level design isn't very thoughtful as far as gamefulness goes. Some levels are designed so that you can barely go through the deck a single time without running out of moves and having to watch an add for 10 more moves. This design tells me the game is designed more for ad revenue than actual gaming, and the system doesn't want to reward players for being careful and knowledgeable (and lucky) enough to be minimal with the number of moves they make. Other levels are designed so that you can go through the deck one and a quarter times before running out of moves. Sometimes the associations are weird or incorrect, and categories start to get repetitive after a while such as religion (but there's enough variation that it's not boring yet). The restart mechanic continues to be annoying. You have to tap about five buttons in order to restart a game (your initial tap on the menu, your tap on the restart button, your tap on the confirm restart button, your tap on the yes I'm sure I want to restart button, and then your tap on the final you have reset your game button). Then there's an ad after all of those taps! I don't mind the ad but coming on the heels of all those unnecessary taps is annoying). Sometimes if you didn't close the game properly, you have to watch an ad when you first tap start a game, which is also a bit off-putting.

***updating to add all the below is still true and I still play lol… but now they have little hand clap and heart hand and thumbs up emojis each time you place a correct card. Sooooo annoying. Please at least give the option to turn that off. I don’t want to delete this game** like the game, I really do. But the ads are more annoying in this game than in any other I’ve ever played. The higher the level the more ads, haha, like when I finish a stack… ad break! The worst part is the coin situation. I saw the r developer respond to one comment that said coins help you beat hard levels, and sure they do like in any other game. But to get extra moves, which is only 5, they require 2,250. It’s such a random number and way too high. To make it worse, if you do want to purchase coins bc you’re so close to winning, well the lowest package only gives 1,500. Never played game that doesn’t even offer the amount of coins it would take to buy more lives. Oh but they give you 750 coins for free, to get you to 2250, after an annoyingly long ad. And even if I paid $10 for no ads, the weird coin packages are ridiculous. And being charged a move for having the click on the stack is also wild. This game is just too extra for me. I wanted to love this one so much because I just want to play a word association solitaire game without the side quests and all the other side game mess. But the ratings here are high and obviously many people love. I do too but the ads and the coins are too much for me.
