Natural Cycles: Fertility App

My husband and I use this app to aide us in NFP. It has been amazingly accurate and so great! I think what this app does to empower women to learn about their bodies and take charge of their fertility in a healthy and natural way cannot be understated. Thank you so much for this wonderful tool! If I could make a suggestion though, it would be maybe to tweak the wording of a particular message. I had my profile set to prevent pregnancy mode as my husband and I have not been actively trying for a baby. However, we are a couple who is open to life, so there are times (through no fault in the app) that we are knowingly intimate on a red day. I just found out that I am expecting and hit the follow pregnancy function. I was disheartened to get the message that said you were sorry I got pregnant while in prevent pregnancy mode. Now, granted I am someone who looks at all new life as a joy and a blessing, regardless of it being planned or unplanned, but for someone who may be more surprised and scared about an unplanned pregnancy may take that message to heart and it can be really discouraging. May I suggest that regardless of the mode a cycler is in, that you greet them with a message of joy and encouragement? Instead of “we’re sorry”, just say “congratulations” and then go ahead and have them take the survey you put in the message. This app is so amazing at spreading positivity and empowering women and I just think that should consistently be represented throughout.

I’ve been using Natural Cycles for 4-5 months and love it so far! I’m a pretty natural individual who doesn’t like to rely on meds, workouts, tries to eat healthy and the more I’ve fallen into this lifestyle the more I was realizing despite trying to live a fairly clean life I was using hormonal BC. Being on hormonal BC for years I wasn’t sure if my anxiety was worse because of it or with my body changing around age 30 bloating was worse because of it. I was very skeptical switching to solely a tracker as a means of BC but after months of deciding the best option for me (nonhormonal IUD, Natural Cycles, remain on the pill) and communicating everything with my fiancé, I’m so glad I made the switch. I’m more confident in the app, though still have minor concerns with a pregnancy happening. As mentioned, this was all discussed with my fiancé and I use the app 95%(?) consistently (not to the hour but consistently every morning). I use LH strips mid cycle however haven’t gotten that part down yet and follow the notes provided by Natural Cycles (green vs red days, etc). While this is the right option for me, I’m not sure it’s for everyone; I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable utilizing Natural Cycles at a much younger age with an unsteady partner as my means of BC. I still have my moody moments 🙃 however my fiancé and I both agree we’ve seen a change in my mood since coming off as well as I feel less bloated and sick after eating. Thank you for creating an app that allows women to feel empowered and in control of their body!

I’ve been on and off (99.9% on) hormonal birth control (mostly Nuva Ring) from the age of 15-27 years old, and now I’m 32. When I stopped taking hormonal birth control cold turkey, I feel like the ‘real me’ began emerging almost immediately. For the first time I could begin feeling my emotions and my body. My feminine intuition kicked back in, something I had been out of touch with for over a decade. Truly my whole life changed, I left my job, left my 3-year relationship that wasn’t right for me, moved to another city, the lost goes on. From the age of 27-31 I didn’t use any type of birth control method or monitoring, and this was still not my favorite because I was worried I’d get pregnant and was yearning to learn even more about my body and my cycle. —> Enter Natural Cycles App!! I’ve been using Natural Cycles for only 4 months and am already in love with it!! It’s a dream come true!! At first I had to get myself into the habit of using the thermometer each morning but it’s SO worth it once you do. I feel so confident in understanding my body and my cycle now, without having to use hormonal birth control. What a relief!! I have so much data about my cycle, and so much certainty around when to be extra careful during sex, etc. I’m so grateful for Natural Cycles!! And absolutely love that it costs so much less than traditional birth control. And the App itself is incredible, so well developed and managed. Thank you Natural Cycles! You changed my life for the better forever!
