    Great APP!

This app is intuitive and easy. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because I would love 1 additional feature… on the My Activity tab (I’m using an iPhone) looking at the full month view of both the Heart Points and Steps views, it would be nice to have the color of the circle change to a different color instead of just changing hues when you reach the goal for a day. Or even a check mark over the day like on the Week view. I still like the app and will continue to use it- it would just be nice to have a quick visual to see how many days during the month that I met the goal.

    Thank You, Heart Disease Avengers

Excellent. Pure and good, period. This is a gift to us. Yet, some people have still complained: "Until it magically aligns with my Sparkle Pony Unicorn heartbeat ratio index, measures perspiration sodium levels (aligning with my home-based lab testing), and adds a drop-down choice for bi-weekly underwater hot Tai BocChi lacrosse sessions so I don't have to do so manually (THE HORROR), I'm giving it only half a star..." Seriously, folks. Get a problem. Like heart disease. Have it in your family? You must not. Most folks who DO have heart disease, know someone with heart disease, or lost someone they love very much to heart disease aren't complaining about something so positive in the fight against this beyond-crappy death monger. We are every-day thankful for the genius, hard working souls at the AMA and Google (and Apple - thanks for the app, yo!) who joined forces in the magical Google Fit to make the world a better, healthier place so we don't lose even more people we love to this horrific, extremely preventable disease. Thanks to every heart disease Avenger who is fighting for our lives. We are so fortunate to have you walking with us.

Impressed on Positive Heart Health, Not Impressed with Functionality

I was hoping this would bridge the gap between my WearOS powered fossil smartwatch and Apple Health so I could get more use out of the health data and the Google Fit functionality of the watch. Unfortunately no such features. The app has read only permissions with Apple Health so it only organizes data from that app into Google’s. It does not link with WearOS so data from the smartwatch does not go directly to Google Fit’s app so that is still a problem for me. I like that it puts the focus on heart health in a “weight watchers” kinda way— points instead of steps or calories to get a bigger picture view of how to improve overall health. But I’m not getting my progress counted from my smartwatch anyways. Overall, Google Fit just organizes information that already exists in a new way. I’m intrigued but probably won’t keep it.

About Google Fit: Activity Tracker

2,278 characters

Get to a healthier and more active life with Google Fit!

It’s hard to know how much or what kind of activity you need to stay healthy. That’s why Google Fit collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Heart Association (AHA) to bring you Heart Points, an activity goal that can help improve your health.

Activities that get your heart pumping harder have tremendous health benefits for your heart and mind. You’ll earn one Heart Point for each minute of moderate activity like picking up the pace when walking your dog, and double points for more intense activities like running. It takes just 30-minutes of brisk walking five days a week to reach the AHA and WHO’s recommended amount of physical activity shown to reduce the risk of heart disease, improve sleep, and increase overall mental wellbeing.

Google Fit will also help you:

SEE YOUR WORKOUTS Get insights and see stats such as heart rate, speed, pace, route, and more for your runs, walks, and bike rides.

MONITOR YOUR GOALS See your daily progress on your Heart Points and steps. Meeting your goals all the time? Easily adjust your goals to keep challenging yourself to achieve a healthy heart and mind.

MAKE EVERY MOVE COUNT All physical activity can help you lead a healthier life, and with Google Fit you can track it all in one place. Working with your favorite fitness apps and devices, Google Fit builds a journal of your activity. And to make sure Fit never misses a workout, you can manually add any activity your other apps didn’t track - from Aerobics to Zumba!

CONNECT WITH YOUR FAVORITE APPS AND DEVICES Google Fit can show you info from many of your favorite apps and devices that are compatible with Apple Health to give you a holistic view of your health, so you’ll never lose track of your progress. These include Lifesum, Runkeeper, Strava, MyFitnessPal, Headspace, and more.

CHECK IN AT ANYTIME, FROM ANYWHERE See a snapshot of your activity history across Google Fit and your integrated apps in your journal. Or, see the full picture in browse, where you can find all of your health and wellness data.
