Great device for my active 10 year old

My child received this for Christmas and we were able to quickly add all grandparents and parents to the account. All parties had Gmail accounts already, and I added everyone to a Google family account and the rest was a breeze. We love the family quests, and it’s already gotten us excited to move more to help reach the goal. My kid is a competitive swimmer and has been wearing the watch to her practices and it’s held up just fine in the pool, and has given her accurate “active minutes” after a practice. All texting and voice call functions have been working just fine, and we’re all excited for her to have some more freedom in the neighborhood and peace of mind for us as she gains independence.

Game-changer

As a parent, this watch has been a game-changer. The peace of mind that comes with knowing where my 8-year-old daughter is at all times is invaluable. The ability to communicate with her directly through the watch is a fantastic bonus - it's like having a mini phone without all the distractions. The "school time" feature is genius! It's a simple way to ensure that she focuses on schoolwork during the day without having to constantly remind her to put the watch down. I love that she still enjoys the watch after school hours, with its fun games and activity goals that keep her motivated to stay active. Overall, this watch is a fantastic tool for both parents and kids. Highly recommend!

Good but room for improvement

Provides the necessities for our kids to be able to reach them via text or call (through the app). And has fun games. But some great features that were available on Gizmo (Verizon kids watch) are lacking here. Now that we don’t have it we miss them: 1) before the watch dies, ping its exact location and save to the app. Kids lose watches. If it’s dead - without its last pinged location - good luck finding! 2) give ability to schedule reminders that will automatically pop up for the kid to see (vs just texting) 3) ability to send pictures 4) open up wallet capabilities. Currently only Acorn or one other which charges an unreasonable fee - so we just don’t use it. But would be nice to be able to add a card to it and allow them to use it. Leave it up to the parent to track and manage. If they want to use Acorn, great. If not, let them do others just like any other wallet/tap to pay 5) better battery 6) get bands back in stock. The one my son wants has been “out of stock” for a year. It’s not a terrible watch but if they want lasting power they need to incorporate the above and improve. If my son wasn’t getting a phone next year I’d switch to another watch. It works. And a decent price. But not can definitely be better.
