IMDb: Movies & TV Shows

Make easier to look up by: • being able to search for a film title based on plot, character & actor descriptions • allow a filter to narrow sub-genres: it’s hard to look for a zombie (noir, goofy or both)-romantic-comedy. IMDb is the one place I should be able to find a film this way. • add filter to narrow down the year it was made • make sure that films are findable one way or another! I’ve been looking for this film where a guy wakes up with a bullet in his head, begins to realize he’s been dead for 10 years, was killed just before he was going to ask his girlfriend to marry him, now his 10 year reunion is coming up, he’s undead, wants to see his true love again, so gets help from a Stogner undead ally who has made friends with a big Zombie that they keep with them, the stonter undead Guy keeps teaching Big Z (think his name is definitely a nickname). While on their travels, they deal with the perils and challenges of decomposition & figuring out what happened to them, they are being tracked by a possibly military unit connected to the corporation that the main character’s girlfriend’s (& soon-to-be-fiancée’s) super uppity super rich daddy runs. This movie is hilarious and a great fresh take in Zom-Com Romantic Noir film. So where do I start looking? Comedy, romance? Hard to find under Zombie anyone who can tell me the movie based on this plot provision, please post it in a review or send a message through Facebook. MicHelaware Vanithee signing off! Thanks!

IMDB has always been a great resource, but, what I’m thinking for it not to have an appletv component there MUST be a proprietary stance on TV guides that are not Apple made, or for paid secondary services. it most useful, when combined with ATVs (Icloud, Siri, Bluetooth WiFi) ability to index and connect data and all of those activated independent apps you activated that have live streaming data, have access to the cable provider once setup, but have 30 different icons and with Siri not as “knowledgeable” as some of its competitors, the IMDB data could fill in A LOT of rotten tomatoes –this would great for cord cutters Again giving them a familiar menu that IMDB allows you to drill down in too much more deeply than a traditional cable box, additional channels could added on the fly with a TV Guide looking menu again – Siri suggestions could be bolstered not with data not provided by the network and ad or subscription based, but you can make more money on free ad based, Because you don’t need to provide content. So like I said, I love the app but it’s really no different than the webpage and my 11 inch iPad Pro still isn’t the same as my TV at the end of the day where I miss my TV Guide but it would be great to know if future shows are going to be renewed or who that actress was and what else was she in across the board with a single menu of live channels. Maybe that’s just My development minded pipe dream. You have the ability to repackage something old for A generation of people that have never experienced singularity of a television experience and the data to make it interactive enough for it to be interesting to generation Z. Don’t drop the ball.

I miss the early days of IMDB when it was run and only run by those who worked at IMDb or in the entertainment business. Instead you decided to open it up to anyone who signs up and allowed them to add trivia items that are quite literally trivial. The trivia of IMDb used to be my favorite part of the site. Behind the scenes tidbits that enhanced what I was watching. Now? It’s either inane tidbits, inaccurate one liners, grasps at any kind of connection, made up crap to say they got something approved, plot spoilers in the wrong location (you know instead of actually going into the spoiler section), notes by people who were obviously not born when the movie/tv show came out and therefore do not get that for their time was the norm, or just plain stupid. I’ve seen everything from people being offended at old 1930’s movies because they didn’t realize that movies were made then and it was a different era to such things a character name in an episode vaguely resembling a previous character name in an episode that aired two years prior. Why are these things approved? Want to make it “social” or interactive? Create a message board or Game Center and leave the actual trivia and fact section to the pros. (Which reminds me, double check your facts on stars as I keep finding inaccurate ‘facts’ on dates of birth, birth/death locations and more. The only thing this site is good for anymore is finding out who’s in the cast.
