Fiverr - Freelance Services

I started out and spent $ on Fiverr and was satisfied initially. I even left sellers great feedback to help them and referred business. Now starting to wonder if it’s more of a “scam.” Come to find out…3 of my orders have been declined in a row and go into a “balance.” For all of these…I needed a project and the seller told me they could provide. Then they answered none of my questions over a several day waiting period (I have screen shots of the comm I sent with absolutely no replies) for the project and told me a few hours before project end period they couldn’t do it. So…I wasted 4 days on a project they likely had no intention of doing. Now I’m also finding out they may not give me my $ back but they apply it to my “balance” that I’m not going to use because I’m beyond frustrated at this point? Hoping they will at least do the right thing and refund me directly given my recent project had zero communication as I was waiting and ended up being cancelled. I wish they had a more strict communication policy if a seller is just in too deep because I completely understand but please…just tell me that rather than make me wait for 4 days and cancel on me last minute. Soooo frustrating!

I’ve enjoyed using this platform, however there is ZERO protection for sellers on here. It can take weeks for funds to be released. The two weeks does not begin until the order is marked complete and buyers can drag out the order time by making revision requests within the hour the project is set to be marked complete. The clock does not add time to the seller either when this happens causing you to go into negative hours and risking being late. It also doesn’t take into consideration when an order is placed in late evening hours or the middle of the night so 8-12 hours can go by before you actually get eyes on a new order. I’ve had multiple buyers on here try to scam me out of my time. Refuse to pay for services and then essentially request those changes in their revisions. There is also no way of showing when they’ve hit their revision limits so they can just keep requesting revisions without it prompting them to pay for more if you have a revision limit set on your order. There is also no way of reporting said clients on these orders. You can cancel the order (which doesn’t help the seller because they are out the money after all the work) or you can modify the order to offer a refund. Again it doesn’t protect the seller against rude and greedy customers which is frustrating. Please do better in protecting the sellers on your platform.

This is a good app with some talented people. I have been satisfied many times with what I have received as a delivery. There have been some occasions where the sellers have been lackluster, but Fiverr has always taken care of it with credits to my account and by letting me know how to better use the platform to prevent the issues in the future. However, some sellers have been extremely rude, one seller by asking me if I ever sleep (because I messaged him late apparently) and or just a little bit unprofessional saying that I need to contact them back later as it is night time there. Some people work at night, but that’s fine when they are nice about it. Others are not quite that nice about it, as mentioned above. A lot of that would not be a problem, but is because you cannot select a specific filter to categorize sellers by country, and or your local time zone, of which both filters would improve this platform greatly. I think if the seller has not muted their app or utilized the busy feature for this platform, then they should not be raging and or disrespectful to the buyer. This app also has the problem as like all platforms now with an automated system for detecting things that break terms and conditions, which are mostly inaccurate, causing frustration and time spent arguing with customer service, which has been good as mentioned, but are somewhat lacking respect for frustrated customers and think they are above all… UPDATE: Fiverr is good about receiving feedback, quick to fix bugs and improve the user experience. Fiverr is along fast to remove scammers and fake accounts from the platform. I would like to see the app optimized for iPad screen sizes, currently, as of June 2023, it only supports iPhone screen sizes so iPad just zooms in on the iPhone view which does not look nice on iPad.
