Osta: Save & Share Recipes

I started using Osta a few weeks ago just for the ease of importing recipes in 2 seconds and it awesome for that but wow is it so much more! I used to thing my grocery lists in the notes app were perfect but Osta makes shopping soo much easier and lowkey fun the way the lists are formatted Of course importing any recipe I find on the web into a comprehensible format (vs scrolling through all the slop) is the main reason I love Osta but I’ve really become fond of the meal planning and grocery lists features as well. Will be recommending to all my friends that cook :)

We have lost another incredible app to corporate greed... I’ve been using and loving the free version of Osta for quite a long time (there’s a number of features behind a pay wall, and honestly I always thought it might be worth it to upgrade one day when money was a little more stable), until this week when they introduced ads... So now, to save a recipe, you have to watch 2 of the longest and most obnoxious ads I’ve ever seen, and then you get to the “free trial” page and the x to continue into the app was so tiny in the corner over my battery percentage, that my phone couldn’t even register I was tapping it. I still haven’t managed to get into the app, but if I ever can, I’m moving all of my recipes back to ReciMe. And if they sell out, well I guess it’s back to good ol recipe cards like grandma had.

I absolutely love the app and definetely love the fact that it’s free but my main issue/concern is that as I was transferring over all the recipes I had saved on Instagram at some point it stopped being easy, simple and quick. Now every single time I add a recipe I get a minute long break and this wouldn’t be so much of an issue if only I had a small number of recipes to add but seeing as I have to add recipes back to back it’d be likely hours before I finish adding recipes. I understand ads help support the app being free but I’d much rather they be spaced out between recipe adding instead of it being after every single recipe addition. Other than that great app once again.
