Like the concept but could be better
Make it to where you can connect to your Walmart/grocery app to automatically make the cart for you. And make options for weight loss/gains.

Needs more personalization
App is a great concept but needs more preferences. The “won’t eat” section is very limited right now. For people with 0 picky eaters in the family, the app is great. However, for those who have picky eaters and/or those allergic to certain foods, it needs some work. Won’t eat section should include a lot more things like won’t eat “dark meat, pork, peanuts, shell fish (or other allergy related foods). Also maybe include a healthy section like only lean meats, low fat diets etc. I get it, the app is new and designed to save money at the store. But again it doesn’t work too well for picky eaters and allergic people. (I myself am not a picky eater and I can’t control what a kid likes/doesn’t like or what people are allergic to).

Amazing concept but lacks options
I wanted so badly to love this app. While creating my weekly plan, I noticed there aren’t a lot of recipes. I selected the all meat option and provided a $200 weekly budget just to see if that expanded my options. It didn’t. The other thing that has prompted me to cancel my subscription is there aren’t any crockpot meals. As a mom of two with a hectic schedule, crockpot meals are necessary most weeks. I also agree that if the items could sync to my Kroger cart, that would be A+ but not a requirement for me. I do see that the creator is very communicative with their feedback and if these are ever added, I will 100% be back and be a loyal customer.

About TapCook: Budget Meal Plans
1,719 characters
1. Enter your ZIP and pick the grocery store you actually shop at
2. Tell us how many you're feeding, which nights you cook, and what you want to spend
3. Get a week of dinners and one grocery list, totalled at your store
TapCook plans your dinners for the week and tells you what the groceries will cost before you leave the house.
Instead of deciding at 6pm, scrolling for ideas, and finding out the damage at the register, TapCook builds the week and the shopping list together — and keeps the total under the budget you set. Tick off the staples already in your cupboard and they come off the bill, this week and every week after. Don't like a dinner? Swap it and the list updates.
TapCook is currently available for US grocery stores only.
TapCook subscriptions are $9.99/month, or $29.99/year with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan.
*Grocery Prices in TapCook are estimates, not live prices from any retailer. They start from a national reference price for each ingredient and are adjusted for the chain and region you choose. Real prices change often and vary by branch, so your checkout total will differ. TapCook is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any grocery store, and store names are used only to show which one a plan was priced against.
*Always review ingredients, measurements, cooking instructions, food-safety guidance, and allergy information before cooking. Dietary and "won't eat" settings are a convenience, not an allergen control.
