Reasonably timely local news
I'm pretty satisfied with the app as a supplement to the daily R-S edition. My only major complaint is that often when I click on a breaking news alert, it takes me to an article with only 1 or 2 sentences -- not much more useful than the original headline.

If I pay monthly for a subscription, I should not have to see additional ads
I did start paying for a subscription. I feel there are to many “on page” ads however. If I am paying monthly to read this, on screen ads should be at a minimum. Also, each article should have an email address of the article’s author. Most readers don’t use Twitter. I also would like to see articles with a more conservative bias. The articles in general need to original, simultaneously not repeating liberal talking points that seam to permeate the mainstream media these days. Other than that, I am enjoying the local paper.

Keeps me up to date
I get the Searchlight every day but I really enjoy the new app. It keeps me up-to-date on things that are happening especially with current breaking news on local items. So I enjoyed reading both the newspaper and the app.
